It’s Hard To Believe That 10 Years Has Passed…
Since the tragic events here in NY on September 11th.
This year, on the 10 year anniversary, Zachys and I are sponsoring a local half Ironman triathlon that has a dedicating theme to the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. (With the race actually taking place on Sunday 9/11/11)
This Half Ironman Triathlon will be taking place Croton with MANY local participants….including YOURS TRULY.
It is very important to myself and the store that our effort to be part of this event on this special day is going towards a worthy cause. The TOUGHMAN triathlon has a charitable memorial fund affiliated with the race “The Croton-Buchanan-Cortlandt 9/11 Memorial” – Featuring one of the original steel girders from The World Trade Center erected to remember those lost in the local community, state of New York and around the country.
Zachys has created its own personal connection to a special charity…specifically we want to raise funds to help families/children that were directly affected by 9/11. We have found a VERY worthy organization in Families Of Freedom Scholarship Fund. “The purpose of the Fund is to provide education assistance for postsecondary study to financially needy dependents of those people killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and during the rescue activities relating to those attacks.”
10 years ago the entire country was jolted by this horrific event and there were many people left wondering what they could do to help so many that were so deeply impacted. Here is our chance to show them that “We have not forgotten”
I felt this would be a good way for all of us to channel our efforts towards a cause that hit so close to home for everybody.
Your consideration and contributions to our effort are greatly appreciated by the entire Zachys family.
Thank you,
Andrew
