At the start of the Summer I was SUPER jazzed about expanding and promoting our premium spirits category at the store. I felt what better way to throw a few extra logs on the fire than to offer FREE SHIPPING on all spirits for the entire Summer.
IT WORKED!!!
Sadly, the calendar on the wall tells us that Summer is coming to a close with Labor Day this coming Monday…and so too will come to close this special FREE SHIPPING promo.
Don’t be sad that Summer is ending, and DON’T miss out on the final days of this special promo.
Cooler weather brings new opportunities to change up your drink menus. You can take this week to plan ahead and load up on some new additions to your spirit collection…or simply re-stock personal favorites.
This promo has been popular with 12,000+ bottles shipping out this Summer…but once we hit the final day September 3rd, the promo is OVER.
Don’t hesitate…JUMP IN!!
We look forward to hearing from you and hope everybody has a great final weekend of Summer this Labor Day Weekend.
All my best,
Andrew
It seems these days that the most famous and prestigious wines coming from the Bolgheri region of Tuscany are all “Aia” wines….i.e. Sassicaia, Ornellaia etc.etc. There is no disputing the extreme quality of these majestic reds, but with prices reaching or exceeding $200/bottle these days how can you enjoy them on a “regular” basis?
In comes my “Aia” math as I like to call it.
We have had HUGE success with the Greppicaia from I Greppi ever since it burst on the scene a few vintages ago. Mostly because the quality is already super high and the pricing super low.
I did a little back of the envelope math and based on today’s promotional price we are offering on the Greppicaia here’s how it measures up to the other “Aias”
1 Bottle 2009 Sassicaia = 3.88 Bottles of Greppicaia
1 Bottle 2009 Ornellaia = 4.11 Bottles of Greppicaia
Some nice math I would say!!!
I want to see an “Aia” wine as a regular wine at your house and this is the wine to do it.
All my best,
Andrew
Greppicaia I Greppi 2007 (93WE/92WS) {#335651} $45.00
“… Full and round, showing velvety tannins and a long aftertaste of grilled meat, smoky wood and dark fruits. This is nearly always excellent…92.” WS 9/10.
“Some obvious oak tones of spice and tobacco will integrate with more time in the bottle to give more space to the ripe fruit, mineral and chocolate notes that are already present in very good measure. The wine shows muscle and power with a determined, firm finish…93 points.” WE 12/10.
It’s one thing when you produce a wine in teeny tiny quantities and get good reviews from the press. It’s an ENTIRELY different thing altogether when you can produce in the tens of thousands and get the respect from Wine Spectator, James Suckling and Wine Advocate.
The Antinori family has done just that with their workhorse red Toscana Villa Antinori Red:

“A red with depth and richness, boasting black cherry, blackberry and tobacco notes. Requires some time to absorb its tannins, yet this is well-proportioned. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Best from 2014 through 2020. 65,087 cases imported.” WS 8/12.
Rarely does a mass-production wine have the quality and depth to drink this well for over a decade. It’s safe to say: this is a familiar label that actually lives up to the hype! And at a hefty 29% off the release price, we don’t see this staying in our store for long!
Lock in for your bottles now, and see what the entire world is raving about!!
Hello all,
This Summer I have been a proud participant in TEAM SYDNEY. TEAM SYDNEY is a group of my friends who have banded together to help near/dear friends of ours to raise awareness for a difficult genetic disorder their daughter was born with….SMS (Smith-Magenis Syndrome).
Dr. Chris Iannuzzi & his wife Jennifer where there to support my father-in-law over a decade ago with his cancer battle….with a successful outcome I might add! So it is natural that ZACHYS and the Zacharia/McMurray family would want to come to the aid of the Iannuzzis in this quest. The goal is to raise money so that research can be done to help future families afflicted with SMS.
What’s the best way for us to help?! Put on a super memorable wine dinner with the proceeds going to SMS research!
I am pulling out all the stops here, including….
- I will personally be there running the wine dinner speaking about the wines
- We will feature the “Three B’s” of Italy: Barolo, Barbaresco & Brunello
- We are rolling out as the anchor wine for the meal a Barolo that was just awarded a perfect 100 point score!!! (2005 Gran Bussia Aldo Conterno)
At the price of a minimum requested donation of $125/person (includes tax & gratuity) this dinner is a STEAL! This will be a MEMORABLE evening which will sell out quickly because the line-up of food & wine is so good and the restaurant is small (50 Seats only) so reserve your tickets now!
I look forward to seeing you there!
All my best,
Andrew
